Acetone Erosions

Pigmented Cement, Sand, Polystyrene, Blown Glass, and Electrical Components.

The acetone erosion process uses the chemical reaction between polystyrene foam and acetone. Molds are created by dispensing acetone onto large polystyrene blocks, generating voids. A cement mixture is then pigmented and cast into the mold. Once the cement has cured, the remainder of the block is removed. Each piece in the series is unique.
